Not the Weekend I had in Mind.

This past Sunday I had every intention of going to Birmingham to visit family, but it seems that those plans were just not meant to happen. The night before I packed up my bag and got everything ready to go. I wanted to get going pretty early the next day so that I would have plenty of time to spend with everyone seeing as I was only staying two days. I set my alarm for 7:00, 7:15, and 7:30 a.m. so that there was no chance that I could at least be on the road by 8:00. Well when 7:00 rolled around I hit snooze just as I had anticipated that I would, and then again at 7:15. When the final alarm went off I turned it off but decided that I’d stay in bed for just a couple of minutes longer.
Bad idea.
When I finally got up and on the road I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. Everything was going well, I had slept in a couple minutes longer than I had planned but other than that everything was great. About 10 minutes from my apartment I came to an intersection, I had the right of way and the drivers to my right and left had stop signs. As I began to cross the intersection something to the right of me caught my attention. I look over to see a guy coming straight at me looking down.
Long story short he blew through the stop sign and hit me. That brand new car I got for graduation in May, yep she’s gone.
I’m lucky, my car took 99% of the damage leaving me with nothing but a cut on my hand and a bit of whiplash. Things could have been much worse and I am so grateful that I was able to walk away from that accident.
